Filipino researches were awarded recognitions by Intellectual Property and Science 9IP 7 Science) business of Thomson Reuters. Their world-class contributions were recognized at the Philippines Promising Star Awards 2016 for producing research papers that arre indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection. This is from the 13,500 research papers that dated from 2006 – 2015 that were produced in the Philippines.
A total of 46 Filipino authors of research papers across 17 subject areas were identified. In the 10 percent of their category worldwide, 1,261 were in the citation count and 97 of these research papers have been sourced to a Filipino author.
Recipients for this year represented 9 fields that included social science, computer science, clinical medicine, plant & animal science, neuroscience & behavior, economics & business, molecular biology & genetics, materials science and environment/ecology.
